Virginia Family Histories #1, pre-1600 to 1900s

If your family line runs through Virginia, these books are worth a look. Referencing approximately 65,000 individuals from all parts of Virginia, information included dates from 1600 to 1900.

Pennsylvania Family Histories #1, pre-1600 to 1900s

Spanning over four centuries of Pennsylvania history, approximately 62,000 individuals are cited here. Several hundred family history articles included touch on families of English, Welsh, Scotch-Irish, German, Dutch, and French origins.

Mortality Index: United States, 1850-1880

Mortality schedules counted the number of deaths that occurred in the year before the census was taken. They exist for the 1850 through 1880 censuses. This means that there are only four schedules currently available for the U.S. census.

African Americans in the 1870 Census Index

This resource contains an alphabetical index of approximately 660,000 African American individuals who were enumerated in the 1870 federal census returns. Areas represented include Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia, as well as the counties containing the cities of Baltimore, Chicago, New York City, and St. Louis.
