In this addition, we'll start with this week's free genealogy lookups. I'm still a little behind since my bladder surgery, but I'm so grateful for the help of my daughter, Rachel. 

Then we'll move on to a few exciting biographies from the Lawrence Welk show and a famous screenwriter and songwriter from Canada. And I don't want to forget this fantastic colonial American story of captivity, conversion, and love. She left behind everything she ever knew to return to the town she'd been abducted from as an infant. It's not well known to most Americans, and it's possibly the stuff from which novels, movies, and TV shows are made.
