Hi friends,
It’s been another full and rewarding week here at Ancestral Findings, and I wanted to take a moment to share a few things with you before the weekend rolls in. Sometimes, the research feels slow—other times, you blink, and a
whole branch of the tree opens up. This week had a bit of both. I spent some time revisiting New York census records, considering how much they reveal—not just names and dates but small glimpses into lives once lived.
I also compiled this week’s Free Genealogy Lookups, featuring some great databases that may be the missing puzzle piece for a record you’ve been pursuing. If you haven’t checked them out yet, they’re waiting for you on the site.
Also, just a quick heads-up—if you’re doing some deeper digging, a free trial of MyHeritage is available through my website. If you’ve been considering exploring their records, now’s a good time. You can search as much as you want during the trial, and if it’s not for you,
cancel before the 14th day. If you decide to stick with it, they send a small commission my way—which helps keep the lights on here at Ancestral Findings. There’s no extra cost to you, just a bit of support that allows me to keep creating and offering resources like the weekly lookups and articles.
If you have any questions about genealogy, please don’t
hesitate to reach out by clicking the “Contact” link on our website. I'd be happy to hear from you, and I'll do my best to respond soon.
Happy Searching!
