Hi Friends,
As we head into the weekend, I wanted to send along a quick recap of what went on here at Ancestral Findings this week. I hope something in this
week’s lineup gives you a fresh idea, helps you solve a problem, or points you toward a record you’ve been hoping to find.
This week’s free genealogy lookups are now live, and there are
some good ones in the mix, including Indiana death records, the NGS Quarterly, the Pennsylvania Genealogical Magazine, and more. If one of those fits your research, be sure to send in your request and see what we can find.
I also shared a new article on the right way to use AI in genealogy research. AI is showing up in more and more genealogy tools, so I wanted to talk about how it can be useful, where it can go wrong, and how to use it in a way that still keeps your research accurate and grounded.
I also
took a closer look at MyHeritage Scribe AI and what it can do with old family documents. If you’ve ever struggled with faded pages, hard-to-read handwriting, or documents that are just plain difficult to work through, this one may be especially helpful.
And since St. Patrick’s Day was this week, I also shared an article on honoring your Irish ancestors. It’s a good time to spend a little time with that part of your family story and maybe pick up a few new ideas for your research along the way.
Also, if you
haven’t checked out my podcast yet, this is a great time to jump in. It’s an easy way to listen while you’re driving, working, or even doing your research. The podcast is one of the best ways to follow along and support
what I’m doing. 😀
I hope you have a good weekend and enjoy catching up on anything you missed this week.
Happy Searching!
Will
