Leucistic Red-tailed Hawk
|
|
These beautiful white birds, the Leucistic Red-tailed Hawk, are not albinos. The way to tell is the color of its eyes. Leucistic birds usually have normal eye color, unlike albinos, which generally have red/pink eyes. Leucistic birds stand out, making hunting, mate selection, and predator avoidances difficult. Also, their feathers are weaker.
