Hi Friends,
If you love historical postcards, you are in the right place. Every old card is a small piece of history you can hold in your hand. It shows what people thought was worth showing, what they were proud of, what they did for fun, and what they wanted someone back home to see. Even when the message on the back is short, the
story behind the picture is usually bigger than you expect.
This week’s postcards take us into Florida’s classic tourist years, with bright birds, trained dolphins, and sunny public places that once felt like the center of town. They also remind us that postcards do not only capture famous landmarks. They capture everyday life, local pride, and the kind of places people made time to visit on a regular afternoon.
I also included one roadside stop that still makes me smile, the kind of place built to make you pull over, take a photo, and keep driving with a better mood than you had a few miles back. That mix is part of what makes collecting so much fun; you never know if the next card will be a big destination, a small local scene, or something totally unexpected.
If you want more postcards in your inbox,
make sure you are signed up for the Weekly Postcard Giveaway. That is where I send updates and keep the postcard fun going week after week.
Thanks for collecting history with me.
